Tuesdays:  7:00 to 9:00pm at the Nordlof Center, 2nd floor, 118 N. Main Street, Rockford, IL

January 8, 2019 7:00 to 9:00pm

The discussion of The Deepest Well:  Healing the Long Term Effects of Childhood Adversity will be led by Mia Stanford, Preventative Initiative Specialist for Early Intervention Specialist, RPS205 and by Zoe Norwood, RPL Adult Services librarian.

January 22, 2019   7:00 to 9:00pm

The discussion of The Color Purple centers on the Pulitzer Prize winning 1982 novel by Alice Walker.  Written as letters between sisters, and letters to God, this features an educated child wife in the South and a missionary to Africa.  They struggle for empowerment after years of abuse.  This was made into a movie in 1985.

RPL has both the print and e-book for each book.  Registration is appreciated!
