Let’s make a Peace Pole for your garden!

A Peace Pole will add color and creative flair to your flowerbeds.  Come on out and learn how to make your personal Peace Pole garden art. It is a 4″x4″x44″ PVC Post sleeve.

ArtbyKarla provides all the materials to create this project (except for varnish that takes overnight to dry).

Space is limited for this class so don’t wait to buy your ticket. It may fill up fast. Also, this class takes around 5 hours to complete this project.

Feel free to bring a lunch and or snacks. And don’t forget to bring your creativity!!!  Taught by Karla Lombardo.

Mark your calendars for the fifth annual

Midtown District Ethnic Parade and Festival!

Festival time: 12:00 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Parade time: 1 p.m.

The Festival will be held on the grounds of the Rockford Public School District 205 Administration Building,

501 7th Street, Rockford, IL from 12:00 p.m. – 6 p.m.

The Parade steps off at 1 p.m. on Wyman Street and follows West and East State Streets to Seventh Street, ending on the Festival Grounds. The parade previously has included dancing dragons, bagpipes, ethnic dance troops, and more!

The Parade and Festival are event are free to attend, with many family-friendly activities and those for everyone to enjoy.

Activities include:
• Music & Dance
• Genealogy Area
• Family Games & Crafts
• Turkish painting
• Wood Carving
• Large Children’s Activity Area with Bouncy Houses, Face Painting
• A Beer Garden for ages 21 and older

Another festival highlight is cultural cuisine for purchase from many food booths to taste the variety of delicious ethnic foods presented. Tickets must be purchased at the ticket booth.
